This month I graduated from the University of Bath with a Master of Physics (BSc + MPhys) and First-class Honours. For me, college was everything it was promised to be; it has ignited (what I hope will be) a lifelong love of learning, I met wonderful people and made friends from around the world, it has vastly expanded my professional and intellectual horizons, and I got the opportunity to work in a cutting edge research lab.

I thought I’d share some photos from my time here.

Bottom left: the scanning tunnelling microscope (STM) that I used in my Master's project. It can be used to image crystals with atomic resolution, and is operated under ultra-high vacuum (< 10-9 mBar). This is very close to the pressure in outer space. Bottom right: STM micrograph of a NiI2 / I Moiré superlattice. The unique angle between the NiI2 and the underlying iodine layers creates a large Moiré unit cell.
